Bodfari to Rhuallt
Picking up from the last journey, we are now arrived at Bodfari. The highest peaks of the Clwydian Range and this section of the Offa’s Dyke are now behind you, but this does not mean that the hard work is over.
Making the initial climb up the lane adjacent to the main road through Bodfari and no matter what the weather is like you will get to see the epic landscape of the Clwydian Range in all of it’s lushness! You will truly be taken a back by the beauty of the North East Wales landscape. (We recommend getting up super early and catching the sun-rising over Wales!).
Following the signposts along the Offa’s Dyke Path you will enter the rolling green hills stage of the path, but don’t worry each section are still postcard worthy views. Be aware when travelling along fields with cattle and livestock in them, be sure to keep a safe distance away in order not to scare the animals and prevent them from getting aggressive. If you have a dog then make sure they are kept under control and are on a lead.
Once you cross the fields you will need to cross the bridge that lofts high above the A55 expressway that crosses the whole of North Wales. Looking back at the journey you have just took will reward you with a sense of accomplishment and with some worthwhile views as well.
Other sites and attractions for you to visit on your travels along this section of the Offa’s Dyke Path are Bodwelwyddan Castle and Denbigh Castle which are highlights for any history buffs out there!
