Now a well-established event in the calendar, Denbigh will be opening its doors again this year between 27 – 29 September, offering lots of new and interesting properties, tours, exhibitions and talks for everyone to enjoy. All for FREE!
Visitors will have the opportunity to take a look inside buildings such as Denbigh Castle, 2 Crown Square, Denbigh Masonic Hall (former Tower Hill Chapel) as well as Beatrix Potter’s Garden at Gwaenynog. New features in this year’s programme include Pendref Chapel, which has seen significant investment recently, and the Woodlands Skills Centre at Bodfari.
On offer during the weekend are tours of Medieval Denbigh, a Geology tour, guided walks around Myddelton College, Love Lane and Vale Street. All tours require pre-booking at Denbigh Library and as most, are limited to 25 people, should be booked as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
The weekend starts with a talk on Friday evening at 7pm at Theatr Twm o’r Nant by Shaun Evans of Bangor University and the Institute for the Study of Welsh Estates entitled: “The Welsh Renaissance Powerhouse: Dyffryn Clwyd c 1500-1650”. Refreshments will be available. This also needs to be pre-booked via Denbigh Library.
