The last few months have been a challenge for everyone. Faced with cancelling most of their trips for this summer and knowing that their usual overseas customers would likely struggle to come to Wales for the foreseeable, Adventure Tours UK set about revamping their strategy and searching for the positives in this situation.

At Adventure Tours UK they carefully-craft a wide range of active small group tours and tailor-made adventure holidays across Wales. Being Denbighshire-based, it’s always been their mission to ensure the beautiful hills and medieval towns of North East Wales are at the forefront of their plans. Opening up potential visitors’ eyes to the beauty of this area in favour of the more well-known regions such as Snowdonia.

With international travel looking like it will remain uncertain for some time to come, they’ve turned their focus to the UK domestic market. Their existing small group tours and events have been adapted to be better suited to more local travellers – people who don’t need airport transfers and who are likely to drive here under their own steam, as well as those looking to avoid crowds and escape to rural spaces with minimal people.

Their Wild Wellness Retreat is based here in Denbighshire at The Forge. Perfect for anyone looking to escape the daily grind and find a little rest and relaxation in a beautifully natural setting. And for those wanting a faster pace, The Forge is also the venue for our Trail Running Camp, expertly coached by local ultra-runner Tim Higginbottom.

They’ve taken this opportunity to create a brand new self-guided hiking holiday right here in North East Wales too. Self-guided holidays allow people to travel independently, staying in small guesthouses and B&Bs. It’s an ideal way to travel if you’re keen to avoid busy places and want to maintain your distance from others. Working with Headwater Holidays, they’re proud to offer the North East Wales Heritage Trail. A 7-day walking holiday that hops from Ruthin to Llangollen and on to Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog. Spending 2 days in each location, guests will enjoy meticulously-planned scenic walks across the Clwydian range, through World’s End, along the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct & Canal and into the Berwyns. Available to book from mid-August, they’re already seeing lots of interest in visitors wanting to discover beautiful Denbighshire.
