With Valentine’s Day fast approaching why not make a real romantic day of it and visit one of the many romantic spots in North East Wales. Prestatyn Beach
The award-winning beaches of Prestatyn act as a breathtaking backdrop to Nova with over 5 miles of golden sand. The long walk across the sands is the perfect way to escape the world and listen to the sea rolling along the coast.
The beach also backs onto the National Cycle Route 5 and Wales Coast Path around Wales as well as being the start or finish of the National Trail, Offa’s Dyke (if you are looking for that longer romantic walk!).
Chirk Castle
Chirk Castle has over 480 acres of estate parkland for you to explore, with wild ponies, sheep, veteran trees, and a beautifully preserved section of Offa’s Dyke, perfect for that romantic day out. The estate is located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has also been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest as an important habitat for rare invertebrates, bats, fungi, and wild flowers. With it’s stunning nature and interesting history why not take time out…to go back in time on Valentine’s Day.
Llangollen Canal
Try telling us a better way to spend Wales’ most romantic day than to walk along a 11 mile World Heritage Site. The 11 mile heritage site canal spans across 3 counties and 2 countries so it is pretty special. With the highlight of the walk being the crossing of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (or the Stream in the Sky) and getting that spectacular view of the Dee Valley from in-front and behind you. This has been a popular spot for many people to ask another person a special question…just an idea!
Ruthin Castle
Ruthin Castle is a beautiful retreat; steeped in history and nestled in acres of parkland beside the Clwydian Range in North Wales. With it’s stunning gardens, beautiful rooms and relaxing atmosphere a weekend in Ruthin Castle is the perfect way to spend a romantic weekend set within the quaint town of Ruthin.

Dinas Brân Castle
We’ve probably saved the best till last! Castell Dinas Brân is the ruins of an old stone castle set atop a hill within the Dee Valley overlooking the beautiful town of Llangollen. With the location of the castle being right in the centre of the mountainous range it really is the perfect romantic spot to visit on our special day. With 360 views of the Dee Valley you can escape the traffic and people for a while and lose yourselves in the beauty of North East Wales.
