Cae Dai 50s Museum
Want to learn about the shaking decade of the 50s? With collections of music, stories and car collections that include Christine Keeler’s car and the great train robbery lorry that is being held in the crime area of the museum. Also you can relieve the past (if your old enough) as a 1950’s typical living room is set within the museum so that you can get that feeling of going back in time.
As well as spending time within the museum, marvelling at the amazing collections on display, you can also roam the the surrounding countryside. The museum is set within the stunning landscape of the Clwydian Range and makes for a good base for walks and woodland exploration.
Ruthin Gaol
Want to take your little prisoners on a great day out? Maybe even ask the warders to keep them in for the night? Ruthin Gaol is a Victorian Pentonville style prison that is, one of few, open to the public as a museum. You can get a real insight into how the prison system worked in the Victorian time and learn about the history of the jail throughout the world wars.
Don’t worry about taking the little one’s to the jail the atmosphere is light and warm and there are plenty of art trails and quizzes for all ages in order to keep everyone entertained through out your time at the jail.
Ruthin Craft Centre
The centre of Ruthin is the craft centre (near Tesco) as it is a hub for the town. The arts that are on display are a mix of local and contemporary art which are refreshed regularly. The main artist on show is Andrew Logan who opened the Centre and built in with Cafe R this centre makes for that relaxing art day and also a great location for a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

The Marble Church
The Marble Church at Bodelwyddan acts as a welcome to our visitors who travel along the A55 from the west and a goodbye to those travelling out of our region to our neighbours in the west. However not many people have entered this stunning church. Built mainly by Anglesey limestone it’s most beautiful when the sun is shining and the tower glitters in the Welsh sunshine.
However the marble is inside the Church and this is where the beauty really shines through, we haven’t got a picture of inside as we don’t want to give you any spoilers. You’ll have to just visit the church yourself.
Gladstone’s Library
With Britain’s only Prime Ministeral Libary being located here in north East Wales, this is the most quirky and unique place you might visit in Britain. With the stunning library being a worthy host for you and your book to unwind there are more things to do here than you think.
The main reason is to stay here. With 26 bedrooms ready for visitors to spend the night you can really get a unique experience of staying in a library and explore the surrounding areas. And with Gladfest taking place every year with music, workshops and activities for all ages there is a lot more to this unique library than the eye can see.
